Włodzimierz Terlikowski
In the orchard
oil/canvas, 59 x 44 cm
„Małe, niepozorne drzwiczki pod nr. 48 av. Duquesne, wiszący, naderwany dzwonek, zakratowane okienko – to wejście do pracowni Terlikowskiego (…) Wchodzimy do sali na parterze, gdzie na ścianach wiszą pastelowe, jasne, pełne wyrazu, pogody i subtelnej harmonii barw – obrazy mistrza. (…) Po małych kręconych schodkach wchodzimy na górę, by zobaczyć warsztat pracy mistrza. Wielka sala zawieszona jest cała obrazami. Są to pejzaże z Włoch, Hiszpanii, Maroka i trochę portretów. (…) Mała, niepozorna postać o szczupłej rasowe[j] twarzy, szarych żywych i przenikliwych oczach – to Terlikowski. (…) Sześćdziesięcioczteroletni staruszek kocha całą duszą młodość, życie, słońce i radość, dlatego też otacza się i skupia wokół siebie wszystkie młode dusze”. Jadwiga Masselska, W pracowni mistrza Terlikowskiego, „Czas” 1937, nr 120, s. 7

We enter the ground floor room, where the walls are decorated with pastel, bright paintings by the master, full of expression, cheerfulness, and a subtle harmony of colors. (...) We climb up a small, winding staircase to see the master's workshop. The large room is hung with paintings. These are landscapes from Italy, Spain, Morocco, and a few portraits. (...) A small, inconspicuous figure with a slim, pure-bred face and gray, lively, and penetrating eyes – this is Terlikowski. (...) The sixty-four-year-old man loves youth, life, sun, and joy with all his soul, which is why he surrounds himself and gathers all young souls around him."
