Marcin Kowalik
Triflower #7”
acrylic/canvas, paperboard, 17 x 27 x 4 cm
The idea for the clutch bag arose in connection with the upcoming summer 2017 visit to Poland by Duchess Kate Middleton, who emphasized the role of Polish designers in selecting her outfits. The presented work became one of the gifts for the Duchess. As Kowalik says, "I started building the TRI FLOWER clutch bag – based on my recent paintings, in which color, perspective, and light played a special role." In the presented work, the artist demonstrated his spatial abilities, creating the complete illusion of three cones emerging from the completely flat front surface of the bag.
